A child of nature, growing up catching insects and fish, picking berries and cultivating plants, his work aims to express the purity, strength and beauty of nature. He wishes his work to convey emotions born from real-life experiences, “I want to make a work that makes me feel happy”.
‘kokoro o atatameru’ (心をあたためる) ‘to warm the heart’ in red bamboo suggests experiences of love, receiving kind words from someone, feelings of camaraderie with friends we share things with, feelings of warm satisfaction at projects completed or cherished experiences.
